Butte Central High School

Through the generosity of its Catholic parishes and numerous alumni, Butte Central Catholic High School serves all committed families in Butte by providing an outstanding 9-12 Catholic educational program. Accessible to all families, the BCCHS is committed to providing excellent education in an environment of the Catholic faith and moral values. BCCHS prepares students for an exciting future by building partnerships with families, parishes, and the wider Butte community. Through academic, religious, and co-curricular programs, BCCHS strives to produce leaders in the Church and in society.

The teaching of spiritual, moral, and ethical values begins at home; however, BCCHS assumes the responsibility for extending and broadening parental modeling and training for all students.
 

Education & More

Scholarship Opportunities

  • Annually, Butte Cental graduating classes are offered millions in college scholarships.

  • Since 2021, BC graduates have earned and incredible $4.9 million in college scholarships.

  • 9 former Maroons are currently participating in Collegiate and University athletic programs which include the NCAA and NAIA.

  • Butte Central and Carroll College have entered into an exciting educational partnership.

  • BC students have the opportunity to apply for amazing scholarships to Carroll College funded by Butte Central graduate Roy Simperman (Class of 58).

  • 100% of Butte Central students who apply for college are accepted.

  • 80% of Butte Central students receive scholarship assistance.

  • Graduation Rate is 100%

 

College Credit Opportunities

Through the Montana Tech Jump Start Program, Butte Central will offer expanded college credit opportunities in 2019-2020. Currently, BC offers college credits in US History & English Literature. In the upcoming school year, the following dual credits will be offered:

    • US History (3)

    • English Literature (3)

    • Anatomy and Physiology (3)

    • US Government (3)

    • Business (3)

Advanced Placement college credit opportunities will also be offered in:

    • Calculus

    • Honors English

    • College Writing

 

The Bishop Thomas Scholars Academy

Aims to enhance the academic opportunities for college-bound students. The program, which is open to freshmen through seniors, requires students to demonstrate “a hard-working approach  to academic success.” Each week participants in academics must attend 2 – 50-minute sessions, either before or after school. Students work on academic enrichment activities in:

      • Math

      • English

      • Reading & Writing for College

      • Computer Science

      • Science

      • The Arts

      • Social Studies

      • Catholic Studies

 

  • In 2018, the composite average for the junior participants of the Bishop Thomas Scholars Academy was an outstanding 26!

  • Collaborative learning projects, critical thinking skills, time management skills, & scholarly pursuits are emphasized

  • The program focuses on preparing students for the ACT Test

  • Students who complete the requirement of the program will be designated as a “Bishop Thomas Scholar.”

 

Technology

At Butte Central, we believe in offering the best education possible to our students. That's why we've gone above and beyond to provide advanced technology in every classroom, from SMART Boards to SMART TVs. With over 400 new computer devices including personal computers, laptops, iPads, and Chromebooks, our faculty is at the forefront of educational innovation. Our students will be well-equipped for college and beyond. With the latest technology at our disposal, we can offer myriad opportunities for learning and growth.
